Terms of Service

Effective date: June 17, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Vigil, a Scripture-rooted reflection app operated by Vigil Interactive LLC. By creating an account, starting a trial, subscribing, joining a group, or using Vigil, you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

Vigil provides AI-assisted Christian Scripture reflection sessions, saved libraries, Lens photos, AI-generated artifacts and images, and optional group and community features. Vigil supports spiritual reflection and is not therapy, medical advice, legal advice, emergency support, or a substitute for pastoral care.

2. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old. You are responsible for your login credentials and all activity under your account.

3. Subscriptions and Billing

Vigil is currently $12/month after any free trial. Billing is processed by Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Unless required by law or expressly stated otherwise, payments are non-refundable after billing and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods.

4. Community Support Share

Vigil may allow you to designate a group to receive a portion of your subscription, currently $3/month. This feature may be changed, paused, or discontinued. Unless stated otherwise, it is not represented as a tax-deductible donation to the subscriber.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of your journal entries, responses, photos, captions, and other content. You grant Vigil a limited license to store, process, display, and use your content as needed to provide the service. Your private reflections are not shared unless you choose to share them.

6. AI-Generated Content

AI-generated reflections, prompts, artifacts, and images may be incomplete, inaccurate, inappropriate, repetitive, or not suited to your circumstances. You are responsible for evaluating and applying any generated content.

7. Community Conduct

You agree to follow the Community Guidelines and not to post abusive, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, exploitative, illegal, spammy, deceptive, or harmful content. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

8. Intellectual Property

Vigil, including its name, design, software, prompts, structure, branding, interfaces, and underlying systems, is owned by Vigil Interactive LLC or its licensors. Your personal reflection content belongs to you.

You may request account deletion by contacting support@christianvigil.com.

Community Guidelines

Effective date: June 17, 2026

Vigil is a space for Scripture-rooted reflection, attentive seeing, and honest community. These guidelines exist to keep it that way.

What Vigil is for

Sharing what you noticed — in the text, in the world, in a photograph. Honest reflection. Encouragement. Questions that open rather than close.

What is not permitted

Abusive, harassing, or threatening language toward any person. Hateful content targeting individuals or groups. Sexually explicit or exploitative material. Content that promotes self-harm or harm to others. Spam, solicitation, or promotional content. Deceptive or misleading content. Content that violates someone's privacy.

Shared reflections

When you share a reflection or photo in a group or community feed, you are sharing something personal. Treat other people's reflections with the same care you would want for your own.

Disagreement and difference

Vigil serves Christians across many traditions. Theological difference is expected and welcome. Contempt for other traditions or users is not.

Enforcement

Group leaders may moderate content within their groups. Vigil may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these guidelines. Repeated violations may result in permanent removal.

Privacy Policy

Vigil Interactive LLC respects the private nature of spiritual reflection. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Information We Collect

We collect account information, reflection/session content, uploaded photos, AI-generated artifacts and images, group participation data, community posts, subscription status, and technical information needed to operate and secure Vigil.

How We Use Information

We use information to provide Vigil, generate AI-assisted sessions and images, save your library, enable groups and sharing, process subscriptions, respond to support requests, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

AI Processing

Session content may be sent to third-party AI providers, including Anthropic and OpenAI, to generate reflections, prompts, artifacts, and images. We do not sell your reflection content or use it to build advertising profiles.

Sharing

Private reflections are not visible to other users unless you choose to share content through groups or community features. Group leaders may see membership and participation information needed to manage the group.

Billing

Payments are processed by Stripe. Vigil does not store full credit card numbers.

Deletion
